When we moved to our new apartment a few months ago, I was finally able to put together a darkroom. So far I’ve mostly used it to develop film, but lately I’ve also started to experiment with making prints. Real darkroom prints!
It’s incredibly fun! Although I’m just a beginner and the prints are far from perfect, there’s really something special about seeing and holding the finished pictures. I feel like I’m learning something new for every print I make.
In the picture above you can see the prints from lasts night. This picture, by the way, is taken with my trusty little Ricoh GRD 3, the only digital camera I still enjoy using.

Somehow the meaning of photography, isn’t it?
Yes, I think it is!
Wonderful work. There’s nothing quite like the excitement of seeing the photo coming through whilst in the developer. Almost as satisfying as successfully developing the film.
Thank you! I definitely agree.
Hey Simon it’s amazing that you have your darkroom going and look forward to seeing some cool prints. Maybe once you master the technique of printing we can hope for a good article on it from you. Cheers!
Thank you Kaushal! It’s really a lot of fun printing in the darkroom.
That’s an experience I want to try.. the prints look cool though.
That’s something I can recommend trying. It’s great fun!
